12 Christian Practices

12 CHRISTIAN PRACTICES

1. Read and meditate upon the pure and whole word of God, with zeal, humility, and Godly aim (read it seven times Genesis through Revelation, all else follows in the wake of this primary effort and goal); and desire for it to become in you memory, will, and understanding.

2. Be awake and watchful so to be able to practically do the two great commandments of Jesus (Matt. 22:37-39), including loving your enemy, in present-time moments and events, in thought, word, and deed.

3. Fear only God and not man (Pr. 9:10); and cultivate a patient attitude and discipline to wait on the Lord.

4. Pray and worship so to benefit from the power and grace of God, and to be filled with the Spirit of God; provoking limits, setting up the wanted struggle between the flesh (Old Man) and the Spirit so as to extend limits.

5. Fast (Is. 58:6) so to be able to contain, and profit from, the Spirit, extending limits and ability to glorify God when it is most difficult, mortifying the features of the Old Man, cultivating the features of the New Man, separating unto the Word, separating unto the Kingdom of God, separating from the Kingdom of Satan (the illusion, the fears, the desires of the world and the flesh). Practically: separating in the moment, in the midst of an event, in any difficult or tempting situation or circumstance, by taking nothing more seriously than the commands of God.

6. Offend not in word (James 3); make your tongue a pure fountain flowing from a pure heart (yet neither engaging in whited-sepulchre moralism nor being lukewarm).

7. Act always from gratitude towards God rather than from resentment towards your fellow man. See in yourself what you dislike in others; observe and mortify in yourself lying, in thought, imagination, and word.

8. Fellowship with other Christians.

9. Confess the name Jesus.

10. Spread the gospel.

11. Overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil, in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, having on and using the whole armour of God (Eph. 6:10-18); replacing vanity, worldly pride, and rebellious self-will with faith, repentance, and descent-of-the-dove God's will; assaulting heaven.

12. Recover the image of God, being a prophet, priest, and king, in the kingdom of God now; glorifying God always in thought, word, and deed, freely, and attaining to a marked joy. 'FAITH in Christ; CHARITY for God and neighbor; HOPE in death, glorification, and heaven.'
