And the 'critical text' champions say, "Run away! Run away!"

Regarding this post here: R. Scott Clark ran away. As do all champions of the 'critical text' when confronted directly.

Note: James R. White is a member of that forum, and he's never once engaged Jerusalem Blade on the manuscripts issues. This is because James R. White is working for the devil on that battleline, and the devil tells his own who it's 'wise' to mess with and who it's wise not to mess with...

Devil: "Don't mess with that guy, my little chuckling bald-headed dupe. You'll make us all look bad, and we wouldn't want that, would we?"

James White: "No, Father. (Praise Be Upon You)"

White definitely has a horse in this race. There was a Dividing Line a while back where he addressed an atheist making fun of Pentecostal loonies who hold rattlesnakes on the basis of Mk 16:18. White basically said since this was a textual variant, people should be cautious about using it as the basis of doctrine.

Separately though - I've never heard White say the AV is a *bad* translation and shouldn't be used. He's quoted from it himself in other contexts. Are you sure you're not just reacting to his personality? He comes across as a bit conceited at times, but we don't have to throw out the baby with the bath water. He puts out a lot of good stuff & we can use discernment on the rest.

If the risk that some will make bad doctrine from Scripture is a reason for deleting Scripture then we might as well delete the entire Word of God since the Roman Catholic church exists.

People like White are never all bad. White presents himself as an orthodox Calvinist just SO he can do the devil's work with the corrupt manuscripts. He has his poisonous leaven. The devil knows the corrupt manuscripts are foundational to everything. He tells his followers to masquerade as anything just as long as they are pushing the corrupt manuscripts and the [per]versions based on them.

There are innumerable seminary teachers and professors and graduates like White who exist solely to push the devil's manuscripts on Christians. They preach and enforce the fear of man over the fear of God wherever they appear, and anything else they say is solely to support the main goal which is to so contaminate the Word of God that no one of God's elect will be able to find it. Good luck, by the way. As long as God's elect exist we will find the pure and whole Word of God. God's elect know the voice of the Shepherd. The devil's followers can annoy God's plan, but they can't defeat God's plan.

And White gives his opinion of the AV/Traditional Text in his mocking asides towards it and towards Christians who value it. He hates it like the devil hates Jesus Christ. He's also too shallow in his general development to recognize its worth, it goes without saying, but it's the traditional text the AV is based on, the pure and whole Word of God, that makes White enraged and moves him to mock, since he can't, currently, burn them (practically speaking, perhaps at some future time he and his fellow followers of the devil will be able to burn the Word of God as his comrades in past eras were able to do).

White is like a politically conservative Roman Catholic. He's OK on political issues and for seeing the left for what it is, even in churches and what not. But ultimately his authority is man, not the Word of God.

When you dicatate to the Word of God what it is and what it will be, and you don't have a problem with it being deleted and changed in all the ways the corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts delete and change the Word of God then you just have more fear and reverence for man than you do for God, and anything else you bring will be empty against that.
